Maui tikitiki-a-turanga, slowed the sun, gifted us fire and fished Aotearoa from the sea. This intimate experience enables manuhiri to hear his story, see his land, meet his people and feel his presence through his descendants, the people of Ngati Porou.

The brand development was created through considerate consultation with Iwi and corporate partners Air New Zealand.

As Creative Director of Pohewa, the brief was to design an authentic tourism facing monogram and typeface that would be used across multiple applications and reflect the detail in each of the Pou standing at the summit of Maunga Hikurangi. We achieved this by looking at the hand-carved intricate detail of each of the 9 pou and applying this to our brand development.
